Their IoT and analytics infrastructure is at an inflection point for extensibility and scale, and they are looking for a versatile, hands-on Data Engineer to help guide this transition.As the founding Data Engineer, you will spend most of your time designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and the data warehouse. The team is small with a diverse product portfolio, so they will also need your help with database improvements and schema changes to ensure a highly performant app.To ensure success as a Data Engineer, you should have advanced programming skills, a keen eye for detail, experience building efficient data pipelines for large data volumes, and a desire to be an integral part of the software development effort.ResponsibilitiesBuild data pipelines:Design, develop, and implement data pipelines to dedupe and clean incoming sensor data.Create robust, scalable, and maintainable data infrastructure.Design and implement flexible data models to enable analysis across business domains and instrument data quality checks to ensure accurate reporting.Contribute to the data architecture at our client.Collaboration:Work directly with the full-stack software engineering team, influencing strategic design and working side by side daily as part of the AgileScrum process.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SoftwareFirmware Engineers, Product Managers, and QA team members, to enhance overall software quality and performance.About YouBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.4+ years of experience creating and maintaining data transformation pipelines with Airflow, dbt, or similar tools.Advanced knowledge of relational and timescale databases.Advanced knowledge of SQL and data modeling best practices.Up-to-date knowledge of the rapidly changing landscape of data tools and best practices.Proficiency with programming script languages, including Python, JavaScript, and PHP.Working experience with data analysis libraries in Python (Pandas, NumPy) or R (dplyr).Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team-oriented environment.About The TeamThe team firmly believes in over-communicating.
