Contracts Manager Position DescriptionIn this role, the Contracts Manager will:Lead contract activities in accordance with company policies, legal and customer requirements, with limited guidance or supervision from the manager.Perform all aspects of assigned contract or purchase order processing including, but not limited to, accuracy of order entry data, contract funding, scope changes, contract amendments, receipts and delivery schedules, legal requirements and other pile and maintain all required contractual records and documents in accordance with contract requirements and company policies and terpret and communicate business commitments and alternatives to program team and management.Act as a subject matter expert with a working knowledge of government and commercial contracting methods, applicable laws and regulations.Mentor junior contracts professionals and may supervise or guide work of lower grade contracting employees.Develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with both internal and external customers.Maintain an in-depth knowledge and working understanding of the US Government Acquisition and Procurement environment, and relevant company policies and procedures, commercial contracting methods, FARDFARS, export and other government dependently lead and support proposal activities including, but not limited to, analysis of solicitations, preparing summaries and developing strategies and recommendations based on the analysis.Be mindful and attentive to the financial and business risks of the proposed effort and participate in proposal team meetings.Prepare the terms, conditions and assumptions upon which the proposal may be submitted, review the technical and pricing proposals for accuracy and consistency, conduct overall business risk analysis and prepare the proposal documents for submittal to the customer.Provide analysis of solicitations, ensure that bidproposals are prepared and presented in a manner so as to afford the company the greatest opportunity to obtain the contract award while minimizing associated liabilities and risk.Hold responsibilities including the coordination with other company functions as required to ensure appropriate reviews are conducted, scheduling required reviews, and obtaining required review and approval signatures prior to submittal of proposals or execution of contractual documents.Establish and manage negotiation strategies and financial requirements.Perform business risk assessment and recommend mitigation plans.Conduct negotiation of contracts requiring a high degree of negotiation expertise, execute proposals and contracts to the threshold delegated.Execute proposals and contracts in accordance with delegated authority.Other duties as assignedRequired Education, Experience, & SkillsBachelor degree and 6 years+ of experience, or equivalent experience, legal degree preferredFirm Fixed Price ContractsCost TypeCost-Plus ContractsPrime and subcontractsHigh working knowledge of FARDFAR regulationsComplex contracts and proposal preparation and executionMentoring and training junior staff membersSenior level management briefingsCommunication skills to effectively convey information both verbal and writtenPreferred Education, Experience, & SkillsThe ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in performance of duties set forth aboveSound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliersComputer literacy to prepareedit appropriate reports and documentsAbility to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulationsSenior corporate management influencing abilityExcellent presentation, team building and leadershipAbility to effect and manage change agentsComplex cross-functional business environment familiarityProven contract experienceAbility to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of dutiesReports to: President & CEO Duty Schedule: Part-time hourly, approximately 18-20 hours per week Duty Location: Aleta Office, Huntsville, AL
