The HDBP Specialist will focus on employee relations encompassing compensation, FMLA, leaves of absence, and wagehour issues. Collaborate with members of Plant Leadership to support business goals and strategy. Must take a hands-on approach and be comfortable with all levels of employees.What does success look like?Maintain and foster productive working relations with salaried and hourly employees:Develop and implement policies to ensure consistent treatment for employeesCoordinate initiatives to encourage employee feedback and engagementFacilitate company events and represent company in community wide initiativesEngage in problem solving activities to improve HD processesTrain management and provide support in the interpretation of the Team BookInvestigate and resolve employee issuesAdminister FMLA and medical leaves: Ensure that Federal guidelines are being met for the administration of FMLA Track FMLA and medical leaves. Ensure that documentation provided is sufficient to approve leavesPayroll administration:Verify payroll entries and changes for accuracy.Report any discrepancies to the payroll administrator.Maintain and distribute, as appropriate:Current employee information (personnel files)Policy and procedure manualsKPI and other tracking reports; including Kronos attendanceConducts employee accessions and related new hire training. Manage, track and trend hiring, termination and turnover data.Assist in aspects of hiring processes for all levels of personnel including internal and external advertising, job fairs, interviewing, pre-employment screening and testing, reference checks, placement of personnel, verification of I-9 form, orientation programs, exit interviews, and unemployment correspondence, and other paperworkParticipates or leads corrective action meetings. Ensures that employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner.Active involvement with internal customers to ensure questions and concerns are being addressed in a timely mannerSupport other departments in maintaining standards for external industry certificationsAdditional responsibilities as required - this position is subject to change as the needs of the department changeSafety & Quality Work in a safe manner and encourage others to do so.Report all unsafe acts and conditions immediately Use our Innovation process and the team concept to improve safety in the plantBe proactively involved with improving working conditions.Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement themLead area in achieving plant quality objectivesgoals100% on-time delivery to customer0 PPM on partsUnderstand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding themHOUSEKEEPINGMaintain the appearance of a World Class FacilityActively support full implementation of the 5S's, using it to approach and keep all areas clean, neat and properly maintained.CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT TRAININGActively involved with the Metalsa Model practices and MOS PrinciplesWhat you will bring:Experience & EducationHigh school diploma PHR Certification (Preferred)Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)FMLA and medical leave administrationKnowledge of state and federal lawsBenefits and payroll knowledge1-3 years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing settingTechnical & Suggested SkillsProficient Computer Skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint Oracle HRISADP VantageKRONOS DimensionsUnderstand and apply state and government regulations, laws, etc.Understand and apply EEO as well as Affirmative Action Programs, HIPPA, FLSA, NLRB and DOL standardsAble to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
