The Membership and Events Coordinator is a dynamic role focused on fostering strong relationships with BDA members, organizing impactful events, and enhancing the downtown Brunswick experience. This individual will manage membership recruitment and retention, plan and execute events, and support marketing efforts to promote the BDA and its initiatives.This is a full-time, in-person, salaried position offering a supportive and flexible work environment where your creativity and ideas will be valued. Benefits include 15 days of PTO, paid holidays, and a $4,000 wellness stipend. Health insurance is not offered at this time.Key Responsibilities:Membership Recruitment & RetentionMaintain and update the web-based membership database.Coordinate and attend monthly Membership Committee meetings.Distribute information packets to new and prospective members.Conduct personal outreach and follow up on referrals to recruit new members.Build strong relationships with downtown businesses to serve as their anize regular retailer meetings; identify relevant topics and secure guest speakers when appropriate.Write and distribute bi-weekly "Membership News & Updates" articles.Create monthly membership reports.Event Planning & ImplementationServe as the principal organizer of new and existing BDA events.Act as the liaison with vendors, volunteers, BDA staff, and the Town of Brunswick.Facilitate event setup and equipment movement.Coordinate event logistics with Town departments, including Parks & Recreation, Public Works, and any other pertinent stakeholders. Provide logistical support to the Events Committee.Prepare progress reports, event summaries, and budget updates for each event.Maintain detailed records for events, including participation, vendor, and volunteer information.Develop and track metrics to measure event success.Coordinate and solicit donations for the Annual Live Auction, Community BBQ and other events as necessary. Marketing SupportAssist the Marketing Committee and Marketing & Communications Coordinator as needed.Help distribute promotional materials locally, regionally, and statewide.Collaborate on social media postings for the Brunswick Visitor Center.Support the maintenance of the Constant Contact email database.Office Management & AdministrationAnswer phone calls and serve as an ambassador of the BDA.Manage office supplies and maintain event supply inventory.Handle mail, telephone, and walk-in inquiries.Troubleshoot office equipment issues.Provide knowledgeable support on the BDA and its programs.Volunteer ManagementCreate and maintain a volunteer database for events and programs.Recruit and coordinate volunteers using industry standard tools.Show appreciation and gather feedback from volunteers after events.Other DutiesPerform additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.Required QualificationsFamiliarity with Downtown Brunswick and its community stakeholders. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Google Suite of tools.Event planning and project management experience.Physical ability to lift and carry event equipment (up to 50 pounds).Enthusiastic and capable of performing essential job functions.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with issues facing small business and property owners.Experience with volunteer recruitment and management.Fundraising experience.Knowledge of WordPress for website updates.Education and ExperienceTwo- or four-year degree preferred, or equivalent experience in event management, customer service, and public relations.2+ years of membership recruitment experience (preferred).2+ years of event management experience (preferred).Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, or walk for extended periodsAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbsJob Type: Full-timePay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per yearBenefits:Paid time offPaid vacationsWellness stipendSchedule:Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Weekends and nights as neededWork Location: Primarily in-office
