They will be responsible for all design tasks and aspects within the Christy Concrete product category including commercial support and collaboration with operation and product management teams.The Product Engineer - Christy Concrete will create enclosures that provide medium to heavy duty solutions for vaults, splice boxes and meter boxes ideal for any industry - municipal water, telecommunications, and other commercial and industrial applications.Job ResponsibilitiesEstablish design specifications based on industry and customer standards and expectationsPerform, oversee, and direct product design and detailing along with product prototyping and testing of Concrete enclosures with accompanying componentsaccessoriesCollaborate with a cross-functional team, utilizing a stage-gate product development process led by Product Management, to bring a product from concept to commercial releaseCoordinate internal and third-party testing and prototyping of productCollaborate with Operations in the design and implementation of tooling, automation, and assembly processes. Ensure manufacturability of designs and a seamless introduction of those designs to productionEstablish product specifications, material standards, and testing requirements for operations' teams based on industry and customer expectationsProduct design calculations and 3D modeling of designsVerify designs including suitable simulation - Finite Element Analysis (FEA)Partner with Drafting team to reviewcreate customer details, product designs and drawingsProvide technical support and expertise for quality standards and certificationsSet goals and objectives for internal and external customer projectsMaintain existing regulatory approvals and assist commercial team in acquiring of new approvalsCreate SKU's and Bills of MaterialAttend job sites and customer meetings as needed to provide technical supportResearch new technologies to ensure Oldcastle remains at the forefront of the industrySupport maintenance and improvement of product through change management processSupport the Sales and Customer Service teams in pre-sale and post-sale strategies including answering customer questions and investigating product inquiriesissuesJob RequirementsStrong technical ability and 5+ years relevant product development and hands-on work experience with physically manufactured product(s). Being an accredited PEPEng or EIT is preferredBachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering, or related fieldA pro-active collaborative individual with a passion for excellent product and continuous improvement as well as a keen attention to detailDemonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team in a fast-paced product development environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communicator with excellent interpersonal skillsProficient in 3D modeling and document management software, preferably with InventorVault and SolidWorksPDMProficient in applicable simulation analysis software toolsDemonstrated ability to understand regulatory codestandards and achieve product complianceExperience in polymer concrete manufactured products for infrastructure construction preferredExperience in any of the following would be considered an asset:Familiarity with ANSISCTE 77 along with associated testingKnowledge of the Water and Telecommunication industriesFMEA, Tolerance stack analysis, DFMALean ManufacturingSalarySalary is negotiable based on experience and ranges between of $80k-$100k annuallyWhat CRH Offers YouHighly competitive base payComprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programsGroup retirement savings programHealth and wellness programsA diverse and inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotionAbout CRHCRH has a long and proud heritage.
