We are making a positive impact and we want you to be a part of it!a Defect Engineering, Particle Engineer 1, you would be responsible for continuous improvement engineering position working in our li-ion battery cell & module manufacturing area. The purpose of this role is to reduce battery cell & Module defects caused by contamination through equipment, procedural audits and improvements. Communicate effectively within all levels of organization to discuss and resolve contamination issues in a timely manner.Responsibilities:• Particle monitoring and management via periodic measurements of foreign material elimination units, (Blower & Suction Units, Magnet bars) based on responsible map & environmental measurement, followed by Defect Source Map (DSM)• Collect particles and analyze the composition using various equipment (microscopes, scanning electron microscopes, etc..)• Resolve and reduce the non-conformities created by production or equipment• Collect nonconformity information & monitor progress status for long term improvement and counter measure effectiveness• Share Best Practices and collaborate with cross functional teams (e.g. Production, Facilities, Maintenance, etc) to resolve internal & external quality issues• Provide direct member training (DSM, critical points, etc...)• Particle and DSM common specification revision, application of Global best practices, evaluation results, and integrating within new technology.• Inspection of completed manufacturing equipment• Confirm application status of specifications verification• Inspection of equipment before mass production to ensure 100% application confirmation• Implement particle elimination strategies - Air blowerSuction unit, Magnetic bar, Particle suction (Welding, cutter, etc.)• Implement adhesion prevention - Covering, Sticky mat, Air flow• Build Particle Defect Source Map (DSM) library• Develop Particle management standard and process establishment for management.EducationExperience:• B.S. in Engineering required (prefer in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing)• 0 to 3+ years of experience in manufacturing related job or equivalent relevant experience• Experience in a Quality Engineering in an automotive manufacturing environment including internship or co-op''s experience is a plus.• Experience in high-volume production, Control Plans, PFMEAs, and process controls preferredKnowledgeSkills:• Knowledge of IATF16949 standards• Knowledge of Minitab, Six Sigma, 8D problem solving methodology• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation• Critical thinking and an analytical approach to problem solving• Able to work flexible hours occasionally to support related team• Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals• Capability to use MS-office and Minitab programsAre you ready to join us in our journey toward a better world?
