Exciting direct hire opportunity for a motivated and experienced Controls Engineer who will be responsible for full lifecycle custom automated systems development. As a Senior Engineer within the department, the largest and most complex projects will be yours to solve for success. Additionally, mentorship of the team will be possible such that your years of experience can benefit the organization and junior members of the team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 10+ years of experience in automated controls systems for industrial manufacturing equipmentParticipate in design development and design reviews at all levels; proposal, standards, projectAnalyze customer requirements and translate requirements into an Automated SolutionManage technical solutions to minimize costs while meeting customer requirements as well as long term reliabilityCoordinate with other departments as necessary to satisfy project requirementsWork with the broader organization to drive continuous improvement in job process and optimization of build costsProvide industry-specific application knowledge and direction to team membersDevelop project requirements and design specificationsPerform detailed system design, programming, implementation, and full testing of the automated solutionPLC logic, servo motion, and HMI development utilizing applicable software (A-B)Design and Test of Hardwired and Digital Safety circuitsParticipate in system startup activitiesDiagnose problems with pneumatic and mechanical systems interfacing with electrical & electronic systemsDevelop tools and integration strategies to increase effectiveness and lower costInvestigate and suggest architecture and technology enhancementsFollow and improve upon internal processes and controls design standardsAble to travel within the US (10% or less) and rarely internationally Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive and positive, with internal and external customers and coworkers. Other Skills and Abilities:Efficient using 2D AutoCAD Electrical to generate control system packagesFunctional electrical maintenance and advanced troubleshooting skillsCompetence in the industrial machinery controls design domainExperience with different fieldbus architectures such as EthernetIP, Modbus, ASCIIFunctional experience programming Servo and VFD drivesAbility to work independently with little directionFamiliar with international standards (IEC, ISO, NFPA, NEC, UL, CE)Robotic systems (ABB & Fanuc)Vision systems to perform part recognition, part position, robot guidance, and quality inspections (Keyence, and Cognex)EDUCATION • Associate's Degree and 15 years of robotics, controls, or engineering experience; OR• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 10+ years of robotics, controls, or engineering experience
