The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design and analysis of safety and non-safety related electrical systems for the Small Modular Reactor (SMR). The position will regularly interface with the I&C, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, and nuclear engineering teams for electrical design and consultation. The Electrical Engineer applies his or her knowledge and experience, industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and good engineering judgment to ensure the design is compliant with International regulatory criteria and industry best practices.Specific Area of Responsibility:Develop system function and design requirement specificationsDevelop one-linethree-line diagramsDevelopOptimize Cable and Cable Tray RoutingDevelop licensing requirements for electrical systemsDevelop component specifications for individual system components such as batteries, transformers, breakers, switchgear, relaying, teract with vendors to obtain vendor inputdesign confirmation of various componentsPerform and support vendor selection and vetting processWork with other work groups to provide electrical design supportOversee any electrical work performed by other organizationsMinimum Requirements:BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.0-5 years of demonstrated applicable experience in power generation (nuclear, fossil, etc.) electrical system designDemonstrated technical writing skills and effective communication skills.Demonstrated good judgment, ability to act independently, flexibility, adaptability and leadership skills.Ability to plan and organize work tasks and meet deadlines.Strong inter-personal skills; effective in a team environment.Eligible to work in accord with Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
