Overview:We are currently seeking a Safety Systems Engineer to join our client's team in Pontiac, Michigan. The Safety Systems Engineer will manage assigned projects and conduct system safety analysis including fault tree creation, system hazard analysis, FMEA and FMECA generation, reliability disciplines, and failure investigations. It produces jet engines for cruise missiles and small jet aircraft.What You Will Do:"‹System Safety Analysis and PlanningSafety Assessment ReportingFault Tree GenerationConduct Functional Hazard AssessmentsConduct Failure Modes Effects AnalysisConduct Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality AnalysisFacilitate adherence to our Maintainability Program Plans and ProceduresEvaluate software considerations for aerospace systemsAirborne electronic hardware evaluationEmploy Reliability Engineering principlesWhat You Need To Be Successful:"‹Bachelors Degree in Engineering Systems, Mechanical or Electrical) preferred but not required5+ years of experience in safety principlesExperience in conducting system safety analysis including fault tree creation, system hazard analysis, FMEA and FMECA generation, reliability disciplines and failure investigationsKnowledge and practice using MIL-STD-882, DI-SAFT-80102, andor SAE ARP4761Familiarity with MIL-STD-1629, DI-SESS-81495, SAE ARP5580 (SAE ARP4754) andor ASTM F3230Construction of fault analysis per SAE ARP926 or similarExperience in completing Reliability Engineering principles including Markov analysis, Weibull analysis (fleet risk assessment), reliability allocations and predictions, maintainability procedures, LORA (Level of Repair Analysis), Etc.Possess a working knowledge of gas turbine engines with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of turbomachinery failure modesComprehension of electro-mechanical components and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering principlesAbility to assess system designs for maintainability and develop work instructionsKnowledge of gas turbine engine hardware and associated manufacturing techniquesStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficient in using Microsoft Office toolsU. S. citizenship is requiredPosition may require the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
