We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a large, global company in the Waterloo, NY area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational excellence and success of an assigned value stream which will come from leading continuous improvement efforts, maintaining Value Stream health, and establishing strong working relationships with teammates, engineering leadership and operational leadership.Key Responsibilities:Ownership of Technical Support for assigned value stream:Accountable to the High-Performance Value Stream metrics and initiativesAccountable for the execution of the Strategy Deployment initiativeProcess development, documentation, and supportValue stream health (FTY, scrap, MDR Onset, TPM)Inventory management support (MSS, Solumina, Comp Cards)Problem Solving (RCCA, PDCA, Shainin, etc)Operational training supportOwnership of Technical Compliance for assigned value stream:AS13100 Support and ExecutionProcess Product CorrelationProcess Engineering Change Order processMetallurgical qualification and compliance (ES6-26 process)Returned Goods processOwnership of Technical support for Lean Continuous Improvement:Value Stream MappingProcess Capability AnalysisProcess Optimization Data AnalysisProcess Mistake Proofing (Identification and implementation)Ownership of Technical support for Environmental Health and SafetyFacilitate and support the performing of ergonomic assessments on processesFacilitate, lead, and support the implementation of ergonomic improvement projectsOwnership of machine safety for all equipment within the value stream:Value Stream Strategy DeploymentTechnical Ownership of the long-term strategyTechnical Ownership of short term AOP Project IdentificationTechnical Ownership of Annual SD Project ExecutionTalent Development execution for team members (Mfg Eng Techs, Mfg Eng I, Mfg Eng II)Facilitation of training opportunities and directionMentoring technical resources for assigned value stream Mentoring technical resources for the engineering teamRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (BS) in Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field. 5+ years engineering experience or equivalent in a manufacturing environmentBasic knowledge of Profit and Loss statements for value streamsBasic knowledge of manufacturing processes, principles and conceptsBasic knowledge of lean principles for manufacturingBasic knowledge of quality principles for manufacturingRead and understand GD&T requirements of product drawingsUnderstand process capability theoryFamiliarity with joining processes (braze, weld, etc.)CAD modeling and drafting experienceBasic blueprint reading and interpretationStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to interface with multiple levels of the organizationEffective communication skills: verbal and writtenAbility to function in a team environmentAbility to use Microsoft software programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
