Role: ControllerCompany: Legal Soft - Virtual StaffingLocation: Woodland Hills, CAPay RateRange: 80K-160KJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller who will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to oversee our accounting, financial management, and strategic planning functions. As the Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, managing audits, implementing internal controls, and driving process improvements. This role includes mentoring and developing a high-performing accounting team. The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).Key Responsibilities:Oversee all accounting functions, including billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, and revenue recognition.Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures in compliance with GAAP.Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.Ensure financial accounts are properly supported and reconciled, including performing reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in preparation for audits.Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process and analyze variances against actual results.Perform financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making.Monitor key financial indicators, cash flow forecasting, and analysis, providing regular reports to the executive team and stakeholders.Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals.Provide financial guidance for business development initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and investments.Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers to ensure regulatory compliance.Drive process improvements within the accountingfinance department and across the organization.Develop and monitor internal controls, ensuring adherence to the company's financial policies and procedures.Qualifications & Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA designation highly preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager.Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel and ERP systems. Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.Experience in managing financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing accountingfinance professionals.Experience in the professional services, virtual staffing, or legal industry is a plus.Why Join Legal Soft?Legal Soft is a growing and innovative company dedicated to financial excellence and innovation in the legal industry.
