Job Title: Mechanical & HVAC EstimatorJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & HVAC Estimator to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and providing accurate proposals for mechanical and HVAC systems in commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, blueprints, and industry standards, with excellent analytical and communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical and HVAC projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and RFPs to determine project scope.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing and ensure competitive bidding.Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering alternatives.Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to create detailed bid proposals.Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing and availability of materials.Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules based on estimates.Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as required.Ensure estimates comply with company standards, building codes, and project requirements.Qualifications:3+ years of experience as an estimator in mechanical, HVAC, or construction industries.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, and mechanical components.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.Proficiency in estimating software (such as FastPIPE, FastDUCT, QuoteSoft, or similar).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesIf you are a detail-oriented estimator with a strong background in mechanical and HVAC systems, we encourage you to apply and join our growing team in Grand Rapids, MI.
