With over half a century of bridge building experience, Manhattan Road & Bridge Company's award winning building practices deliver excellence.The Field Engineer provides support and entry-level construction activities to our field operations, specifically the Superintendents andor Project Managers. An understanding of general construction activities as they relate to road and bridge building is essential, as is a willingness to learn and advance in the industry.Major duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Coordinating and participating in surveylayout of the work, ensuring accuracy and timelinessCoordinate andor participate in Quality Control requirements and ensuring QA QC program compliance on the projectLearning and comprehend all aspects of jobsite safety, documentation, and promotion onsiteThe learning and promotion of maintenance of traffic activities on the projects, and the ability and willingness to obtain required certificationsCalculate data in support of field operationsKeep accurate records in field bookslogs, including data for weekly billing quantities and cost controlLearn and understand the sequencing of construction activities and the job in detailDemonstrate the ability to calculate concrete quantities and monitor the placement in a timely manner (quality and quantity of concrete, form movements, etc.)Communicate and coordinate with Superintendent and subcontractors for activity supportPromote a culture of efficiency and accountabilityA commitment to the workJob skills and abilities:Related experience in heavy civil construction; highway, road, and bridgesA degree or certification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, a related construction specialty, andor equivalent experienceKnowledge or the ability to learn job cost accounting - cost and revenue projectionsKnowledge or the ability to learn CPM scheduling software, preferably P6, and Excel softwareExcellent oral and written communication skillsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or protected Veteran status.
