Position Summary: The Quality Engineer works with and develops relationships with customers and the manufacturing facility to understand and ensure product quality meets customer requirements. By employing the AIAG Core Tools, the Quality Engineer plans and administers the Quality Process under the direction of the Quality Manager. Typically, responsible for one or more customers, the Quality Engineer will learn the customer processes, including part launch, PPAP, ongoing reporting and problem resolution. The Quality Engineer may fill in for the Quality Manager's absences and will need to understand the government standards and requirements for product compliance.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS •Maintain plant compliance to IATF-16949:2016 and ISO-9001:2015 standards as well as customer defined qualitysystems and requirements•Lead the development of production documentation includingControl Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA and Standardized Work to PPAP requirements•Monitor customer supplied warranty data and supplier PPAP files and respond accordingly.•Oversee the evaluation of process audits and finishedproduct inspections for quality and reliability•In conjunction with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager, develop internal quality control standards for the plant•Ensure quality systems and procedures are maintained andeffectively used by all associates•Communicate significant quality issues throughout all levels of the Company•Develop and maintain a partnership-style relationship with customers and suppliers•Work closely with other plant team members to address theday to day problems and improve product and process quality•Occasionally travel to the assembly plants to review productsand interact with customer personnel•Be knowledgeable all government-required testing, reportingand recordkeeping as required by FMVSS-205, ECER43,CCC, and other country regulationsREQUIREMENTS Education:•Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering or another technical field required, or;•High School diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years relevant manufacturing Quality experience required•IATF Internal Auditor certification is required•IATF Lead Auditor preferred
