WTG Preassembly Construction Manager - Offshore WindTaylor Hopkinson is supporting a client in the offshore wind industry in the search for two WTG Preassembly Construction Managers for a major offshore wind project in Virginia, USA.Location: Portsmouth Marine Terminal, VARotation: 2-3 weeks ONOFF, 7 daysweek, 12-hour shiftsContract Type: 1099 (LLC required) - Day rate paymentRole OverviewThe WTG Preassembly Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preassembly, loadout, and sea fastening of wind turbine components at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal. This role ensures that all components are prepared, inspected, and safely loaded onto the Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV) in compliance with quality and safety standards.This is a site-based position that requires hands-on management of subcontractors, coordination with multiple stakeholders, and close monitoring of logistics and operational schedules.Key ResponsibilitiesPreassembly & Loadout Management: Oversee the reception, storage, preassembly, and preparation of WTG components before offshore transport. Ensure proper sea fastening and certification before vessel departure.Site Coordination: Act as the main interface between subcontractors, the WTG supplier, port authorities, and the offshore installation team.Contractor Oversight: Supervise subcontractors executing preassembly work, ensuring compliance with project specifications, health and safety standards (OSHAHSE), and contractual obligations.Logistics & Scheduling: Manage site logistics, ensuring the WTG installation schedule aligns with offshore operations. Coordinate loadout activities with the WTIV supplier and balance onshore and offshore project timelines.Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations follow industry safety protocols. Conduct site inspections, support risk assessments, and oversee the issuance of work permits.Quality Assurance & Documentation: Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to verify that all preassembly work meets technical standards. Review lifting plans, inspection reports, method statements, and test plans.Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks related to loadout, transportation, and installation.
