Job Title: Licensing Specialist Location: Deerfield, ILContract Duration: 6-month contract to start, Ideally contract to hire*Extensions granted in 6-month increments for budgeting purposes. The goal is to convert to Direct Hire in the future, depending on performance and business needs.Pay: ~$31hr W2 + Benefits (Swoon covers 50% of benefits) or $35hr C2C to start Client: Our client is a Fortune 100 retailer and one of the largest purchasers of prescription drugs and health & wellness products across the U.S., Europe, and Latin America. Job Description:The Licensing Specialist is responsible for compliance and audit management, process management, and client relationship management, ensuring business units meet all licensing requirements at federal, state, and local levels.Key Responsibilities:Compliance and Audit Management:Apply Client policies and procedures, including SOX-related compliance policies.Support internal and external audits.Ensure compliance with jurisdiction regulations regarding initial applications and license renewals.Process Management:Research licensing rules and regulations at state, county, and local levels.Review jurisdictional requirements and business practices to meet licensing needs for different retail locations.Accurately complete and submit initial applications or renewals for pharmacy, DEA, business, and other required licenses.Maintain and update licensing automation systems and checklists as tasks are completed.Client Relationship Management:Collaborate with business units and corporate departments to understand specific licensing terface with licensing jurisdictions to obtain requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.Assist other Licensing Specialists with application processing as needed.Escalate complex or unresolved licensing issues to the Team Lead or Department Manager.Day-to-Day Tasks:Prepare and submit complex license applications municate effectively with Licensing leadership and business partners to meet licensing objectives.Act as a representative of Licensing, negotiating and resolving issues with licensing jurisdictions.Utilize independent judgment and critical thinking to identify and address operational impacts.Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to other Licensing team members as needed.Support administrative tasks such as scanning licenses, handling physical mail, and assisting with store closures.Qualifications (Required):High School DiplomaGED with 10+ years of office experience.Experience interpreting and processing business-related forms (e.g., mortgage documents, insurance forms).Strong customer service experience, including quality service delivery and customer satisfaction evaluation.Effective verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.Proficiency in Microsoft Word for document management tasks.Qualifications (Desired):Experience with contract negotiation.Retail or facility licensing experience.Federal and state licensing experience.Familiarity with LicensePro software.Data analysis skills.Background in licensing for healthcare, retail, or similar industries.Experience recommending process improvements.Soft Skills:Highly organized and detail-oriented.Strong communication skills.Motivated and able to handle repetitive tasks.Continuous improvement terview Process:Likely one round with the team.
