Your expertise will be instrumental in developing race-winning strategies that optimize energy recovery and deployment, giving our cars a competitive edge in the pinnacle of motorsport. Key Responsibilities: Design & Optimization: Design and optimize MGU components, focusing on efficiency and performance within FIA regulations. Strategy Development: Develop and refine control strategies for energy recovery and deployment. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with powertrain and vehicle dynamics teams to integrate MGUs with other vehicle systems. Performance Analytics: Analyze MGU performance data and implement improvements. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with FIA regulations regarding energy recovery and deployment. Track-Side Support: Participate in track testing and race weekend operations to support MGU performance. Performance Strategy: Work closely with drivers and race engineers to optimize MGU strategies for different circuits and race conditions. Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in motorsport, preferably in Formula 1, Formula-E, or other hybrid or EV-based high-performance racing series. Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of electric motor design, power electronics, and control systems. Leadership: Proven track record of leading engineering teams in a high-pressure, results-driven environment. Analytical Skills: Strong capability in data analysis, simulation, and performance modeling of complex electromechanical systems. Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of FIA technical regulations pertaining to power units and energy recovery systems. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of MGU systems and their integration with F1 hybrid power units. Expertise in high-speed electric motor design and optimization. Proficiency in thermal management of high-performance electrical systems. Experience with energy recovery strategies and power deployment optimization. Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools. Personal Attributes: Innovative problem-solver with a passion for motorsport technology.
