Reports to: Director of Member ServicesEmployee Status: The Membership Coordinator is an hourly, full-time position. As a full-time employee the Membership Coordinator is eligible to receive all the Chamber's benefits. About the Chamber: The Meridian Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization, supported by member investment and the committed involvement of leaders in our business community. The Chamber provides ways to become involved in the community through leadership opportunities, business advocacy, networking, and promotion of individual business. Mission Statement: "Business Friendly, Community Connected and Family Focused"General Description: Support the efforts to generate and coordinate new member sales to meet monthly membership goals. Work with new members in the on-boarding process and assist in exceeding retention goals. Work with the Director of Member Services to create a personalized experience for each member. Primary Responsibilities:· Assist the Director of Member Services in selling new memberships and increase retention of existing memberships through personal visits, membership engagement, and presentations. · Support the chamber staff with member events and committee meetings. · Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual goals of new member recruitment and member retention as outlines by the presidentCEO and the board in the annual budget. · Meet on a regular basis with existing members to ensure the Chamber is meeting their needs.· Process and finalize new member applications and welcome packets. Prepare and facilitate distribution of new member packets and renewals. · Coordinate all aspects of ribbon cuttings, in partnership with the Meridian Chamber team. · Work with Director of Member Services to engage and motivate the Ambassador Committee.· Provide timely information related to new members, existing members, and committee activities for inclusion in Chamber newsletters, press releases, and external communications. · Actively support and participate in networking activities. · Work with the Executive Assistant to ensure all data is CRM is accurate and current. · Initiate communication with members prior to their renewal anniversary to reinforce the value of their membership.· Work with Senior Ambassadors to collect member feedback and relay to the Director of Member Services. · Follow up with members not renewing and provide feedback. · Support Meridian Chamber staff with projects and tasks. Additional Requirements:· Work with Chamber Leadership to craft and implement the membership journey and execute plan. · Solicit members for donations of gift baskets, gift cards, and other items to support the Chamber's fundraising efforts.Minimum Qualifications:· High School Diploma· Previous membership recruiting or sales experience preferred.· Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.· Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills.· Strong demonstrated customer relationship skills.· Proven ability in long-term relationship building and clientelling.· Strong computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office, financial reporting tools and sales management database systems.· Creative, flexible, and innovative team player. Ethics:The Membership Coordinator represents the Meridian Chamber of Commerce in the field. Professional sales ethics must always be adhered to. Grounds for termination of this position include the use of improper sales ethics or falsification of paperwork. ADA Requirements:· Frequent mobility andor sitting for extended periods of time· Manual dexterity for using office equipment and computer keyboard· Some bending and stooping required· Able to lift 25 lbs. without difficulty· Occasional stress from dealing with a busy office environment· Physically capable of speaking and listening· Physically capable of reading and reviewing communicationOther Requirements· Must process and maintain a valid driver's license and is typically required to furnish own transportation to Chamber events and meetings.· Must be available to work flexible hours, generally averaging 40 hours per week. Hours may include evenings andor weekends.
