Job Title: 81795 - Sights and Sensors Electrical EngineerJob Location: Sterling Heights Michigan 48310 Onsite Requirements:Electrical EngineerElectro-optical MATLABJob Description: Educational Requirement:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience (fewer years considered with an advanced degree). Core Responsibilities:Design and develop electrical components and subsystems for military electro-optical products.Provide support from concept to production delivery, including design, debug, test, and qualification.Develop engineering design fixes and coordinate solutions.Support circuit design, component selection, procurement, and prototype hardware debug and builds.Review and develop hardware and software requirement documents and test plans.Maintain strong record-keeping skills to track design changes, debug status, hardware, and software revisions.Skills and Experience:Experience with engineering development and test tools.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.Strong multitasking skills.Ability to travel to supplier and government sites.Desired Knowledge Areas:IPC and MIL standards.Digital and analog circuit design.Power, thermal analysis, timing, biasing, voltage and current control, LED control, data packet deciphering, etc.Schematic development, component selection, circuit simulation, and PCB layout.Engineering design, development, and analysis software: Desired: MATLAB, MATHCAD, Mentor Graphics Schematic Capture, CAMView, or CAM350.Microprocessor-based products: processors, chipsets, memory and bus interfaces, networking standards (PCI-xpress, DDR2, DDR3, USB, SATA, DVI, etc.).Microcontrollers: IDEs, configuration, coding, and programming. Desired: NXP family of dustry interface standards and form factors (VITA4246, COM Express, ETX, etc.).Networking products, hardware, software, switches, routers, OSI work storage (NAS, SAN), solid-state and rotating drive technologies, interfaces, and protocols (IDE, SATA, SCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS).Serial interconnects (USB, CAN, RS422485, etc.).Graphicsvideo interfaces (SDI, DVI, HDMI, RS-170, etc.).FPGA design and simulation, VHDL.EMIEMC design practices and standards.Programming: C, C#, Visual Studio Suite.Optical hardware and testing.** This client is a US Federal Government contractor and is legally required to hire US Citizens.
