Job Description:The desired Process Engineer candidate will receive an opportunity to showcase their skills as part of a high performing team, which is responsible for the design of cryogenic systems most commonly related to the purification and liquefaction of hydrogen, helium, and natural gas.The selected candidate must work well within a small team environment while preparing process engineering deliverables.Duties:Development of process cycles, simulations and heat & material balancesConception and management of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)Preparation of processrotating machinery equipment data sheets and equipmentutility listsPerformance of process systems calculations, including vessel sizing, line sizing, hydraulic evaluations, control valve sizing and relief valve sizingDevelopment of process descriptions for purposes of new project proposalsParticipation in HAZOPs (Hazards & Operability Analysis)Collaboration with Process Controls team to develop Control Narratives and Cause & Effect DiagramsAssistance in the preparation for Plant Commissioning, Start-up and Operating ManualsParticipation in Plant Start-Up, Troubleshooting and Performance TestsContribution to process engineering work process improvements and standardsRequirements:Minimum of 8 years of hands-on process engineering experience, preferably with cryogenic industry experience.Knowledge of cryogenic process technologies which can include hydrogen liquefaction, helium processing and liquefaction, natural gas liquefaction, air separation, etc.Bachelor's degree in chemical engineeringFundamental knowledge of chemical engineering principles (thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer)Recent start-up and commissioning efforts in a cryogenic plant environmentWorking knowledge of ASPEN, HYSYS or other process simulation softwareUnderstanding of basic applicable engineering codesProven teamwork, interpersonal and organization skillsStrong communication skills both verbal and written, for the purpose of explaining challenges and solutions internallyAbility to interface with other engineering disciplines and with customer
