Survivability Engineers focus on integrating subsystems and implementing features to protect combat vehicle crews.Armor Engineers develop and support designs for combat vehicle armor and structures.Essential Functions:Design and develop armored vehicles and armor plating (metalliccomposite).Support armor subsystem and vehicle-level integration, testing, and verification.Create design layouts, sketches, and notes for design changes.Coordinate with Materials Engineers to ensure appropriate materials are used.Assess design factors like material availability, interchangeability, and efficiency while meeting specifications.Generate and revise engineering drawings, reports, and procedures.Represent the engineering team in meetings with subcontractors, partners, and customers.Travel up to 25%, with occasional international travel.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Experience in armor vehicle and armor plating design.Proficiency in CAD-based design systems.Knowledge of or ability to learn model-based systems engineering techniques.Ability to present technical solutions to clients and stakeholders.Familiarity with U.S. DoD ground vehicle requirements, processes, and military standards.Knowledge of vehicle survivability technologies and equipment.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently with a hands-on approach.Eligible for U.S. Defense clearance (SECRET level).Engineering background with coursework in mechanical, electrical, software, or materials engineering.Education & Experience:Required: BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, etc.)Preferred: MSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, etc.)5+ years of engineering experienceExperience with 3D modeling software (CREO, etc.)Military experience is a plusUnderstanding of Systems Engineering and related standardsprocesses
