Evolved Gear, LLC ("{PWS") is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our company in Boise, Idaho where we manufacture premium weapons and tactical accessories for the commercial, Law Enforcement and Defense industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and precise manufacturing of firearms components, leveraging advanced engineering principles to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop process improvements, and support production teams to streamline processes and meet defined objectives.Key Responsibilities:Process Development and Improvement: Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for the production of high-precision firearms components. Identify and eliminate inefficiencies to improve overall productivity.Tooling and Equipment: Design, specify, and maintain machine tooling and assembly fixtures to increase efficiency.Manufacturing Support: Provide hands-on support in the production environment, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to resolve manufacturing issues.Cost Reduction and Efficiency: Identify and implement cost-effective solutions while maintaining product quality and compliance with industry standards.Quality Control: Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that all parts meet strict quality and regulatory standards. Assist in the development of inspection plans and work with CNC operators and machinists to ensure consistent product quality.Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, to continuously improve manufacturing processes and reduce pliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies. Help maintain compliance with ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) regulations and other applicable standards.Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for processes, equipment, work instructions, and process changes. Prepare and update technical reports and presentations for internal use.Training: Provide training to operators and production staff on new processes, equipment, and techniques. Support skill development to ensure consistent and efficient operations.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Experience:Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a precision machining or firearms manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of CNC machining, Additive Manufacturing, machining operations, and related equipment.Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAM software is required.Experience with firearms manufacturing and understanding of firearm components is highly desirable.Skills:Proficiency in process optimization, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma.Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing equipment.Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Certifications:Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other relevant certifications preferred.Knowledge of firearms safety and regulations (ATF) is a plus.
