Gestamp looks for talented, motivated, and team-based candidates to join our team and continue to build our futures together.Join our global Gestamp family!Seeking highly motivated hands-on candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment!Job SummaryDe-burr, file, sand, blend, and clean, componentsparts in accordance with company quality and production standardsFile, sand, de-burr on all types of metalPerform assigned duties using manual, pneumatic and electric hand tools and machines;Manipulate work piece or tool manually;Develop andor recommend techniques for Class A rework without fillersInspect and measure work piece to verify conformance to specificationsWork in a fast paced environment while keeping up with production demandsTrain Press line, Assembly, Quality and 3rd party inspectors on Defect Recognition and Surface RequirementsDocument daily rework according to company standardsPromote all company policies and proceduresMaintain a safe and clean work environment according to 5S methodsFollow standardized work instructions.Follow safety procedures.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.Self-directed and team oriented with demonstrated use of planning and problem solving skills.Apply company policies, procedures, and guidelines.Qualitifactions and educational requirementsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited learning institution.Preferred skill setMinimum 2 years of experience in Manufacturing, Automotive industry preferred;Previous automotive metal fabrication preferred;Experience with metal forming preferred;Previous welding experience preferred;Forklift experience preferred.Physical & Mental Requirements of the PositionClose vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear.Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and 25 pounds overhead.While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
