Mechanical Product Design EngineerSan Francisco Bay Area, CA - OnsiteeVTOL Aircraft$140k - $160kAbout the jobBrightsmith are partnered with a brilliant Electric Vertical Take-Off & Landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturer on several key hires as they continue to get ready for market entry.They are looking to add to their Engineering team by finding a Mechanical Product Design who can focus on designing and developing high performing systems across their Aircraft. This Engineer will have strong experience designing multiple products within the aerospace, UAV or automotive fields. ResponsibilitiesLead the Design and development of mechanical systems for eVTOL aircraft, working on performance, weight, cost, and safety requirementsConduct detailed analysis of all design submissions, reviewing thermal management, stress analytics, failure mode analysis etc. and uphold all regulatory standardsCreate detailed designs with CATIA & 3D tools to generate manufacturing drawings and support the general production process through improvements to enhance product reliability and performanceCollaborate with the entire team to ensure quick and easy integration of mechanical systems across all subsystemsInteract and build relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners in order to source materials, define specifications and ensure high-quality production processes and deliverablesQualifications3-5 Years experience Designing Products in the Aerospace or Automotive Industry with a proven track record of working on a variety of productsA Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fieldProficiency in CAD, ideally CATIA and additional experience creating detailed manufacturing drawingsPrevious experience designing composite structures, including laminate structuresExperience with composite laminate structure design, working with lightweight materials and manufacturing processesStrong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including stress analysis, thermal management, and material selectionWhy Apply:Join a fast-growing, collaborative organization working on state-of-the-art technologyExcellent opportunities for growth, learning and developmentStrong sense of ownership and accountability A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision & 401k plansIf you're interested in applying, please click the 'easy apply' button.
