Our team members live that passion every day and have fueled our growth across 6 buildings in Elkhart, IN.The Product Engineer is responsible for providing creative, innovative, and functional customer interfacing applications for all of Bennington's pontoon models. This is a highly collaborative role requiring communication across multiple functional areas including Product Management, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, and Executive Leadership.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :Design mechanical and structural systems and products based on a set of given and derived requirementsManage relationships with key material and component vendorsAttend and visit trade shows or other sources to stay up to date on current trends in the furniture and marine industriesParticipate in various cross-functional teams to support product development, operations, production engineering and customer serviceFollows Bennington's product development process to ensure all projects are thoroughly and timely completedWork directly with industrial design to collect and understand the project design requirementsModify designs based on cost, weight and manufacturing targets and capabilitiesAssure system and product quality by confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processesCreate 3D models of design details using SolidWorksPrepare and revise manufacturing drawings using GD&T for manufacturability and repeatabilityEnsure compliance with safety and regulatory standardsSKILLS & KNOWLEDGEBachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design or related field desired, or equivalent qualification or a combination of job-related educationExtensive experience in marine, automotive, or aircraft interior design and production is highly preferredExperience with project management, development programs, and prototypingHighly proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorksProficient in Microsoft OfficeExcellent ability to multitask and change direction quickly with minimal disruptionExcellent time managementorganizational skills with attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skills within team and cross-functionallyAbility to successfully manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlinesStrong ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to achieve goals, results-oriented and self-driven
