U.S Candidates Only.Job SummarySummary DescriptionThe Assistant Cook is responsible for providing exceptional gueststaff experience through high-quality culinary services at Mercy Ships International Office. This position is a dynamic, customer-facing role that requires high organization and professional communication.How You'll ContributeTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Prepare a variety of food items per menu following designated recipes to standard ofexcellence.Prepare food production to coordinate with meal service times to maintain quality, temperature,and appearance of food.Present food items in an appealing manner.Ensure food safety by monitoring food temperatures and use proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards.Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen by regularly cleaning.Work as a team member in food preparation and clean up.Maintain organization in food storage and communicate ordering needs promptly.Perform additional duties as assigned to support the hospitality team and overall operations.Must be able to standwalk for multiple hours; lift up to 25lbs.The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, andor ability required.Strong customer service mindset, including attitude and approach, when interfacing with thepublic and colleagues.Strong time management skills and task prioritization.Work collaboratively and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Maintain high standards of personal appearance and groomingAdaptability and flexibility.Supportive of Mercy Ships mission and vision and committed to its core values.Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity and demonstrateaccountability.Education And ExperienceThe requirements listed below are representative of the education andor experience required.High School Diploma or its equivalent required.Food Handler's permitCustomer service experience required.HotelHousing experience preferred.Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.Pour your God-given talents into a mission with eternal return on investment -- join the Mercy Ships Crew, today!This is a paid position.
