Position: Director of TextilesDepartment: Textiles Job Type: Exempt Reports to: COOSummary:The Director of Textiles will lead the Textiles department as it matures to support Cocoon's fastest growing products. Cocoon's textile products provide internal insulation for aircraft and external cover protection for numerous vehicles, primarily for the military; and Cocoon's patented technology delivers unprecedented corrosion prevention, which is an escalating concern with the Department of Defense.The Director of Textiles manages the complete product life cycle; including prototyping, design & documentation, manufacturing (lead times & cost management), logistics (purchasing & inventory control), and quality assurance. This position maintains vendor relationships and customer relationships, which include military program management offices and prime contractorsOEM's. The Director of Textiles works closely with Engineering to manage the supply chain (new vendors & product enhancements), adherence to the quality management system, and product innovation. Heshe also collaborates with the executive leadership team on revenue and budget planning and overall Textiles strategy.The ideal candidate will have operational andor engineering experience in managing highly specified products; with military productprogram management experience being a huge plus.The Director of Textiles role is based at the NH Corporate Headquarters, with direct management responsibility for the NC facility.Duties & Responsibilities:Fostering innovative solutions and products through textiles and technology that meet or exceed customer expectations.Coordinate internal resources and third partiesvendors for development and execution of projects. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, third parties and vendors.Source, research and develop fabric and trims.Responsible for resource availability and allocation.This position is responsible for ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget.Assist in defining the project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, ensuring technical feasibility, assign responsibilities and oversee the ClientDesignerProduction.Develop a detailed project plan to monitor, track progress and ensure all information is appropriately documented and secured.Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior leadership. Including delivery of work plansprojects and revising schedules as appropriate to meet changing requirements.Oversee each project on accounting, cost and billing and reporting to the accounting department. Approve with management all budgeted expenditures.Manage and update the calendar daily, informing team of all relevant updates.Required Skills & Experience:Must be organized and detail-orientated with excellent follow-up skills.Must have effective written and oral communication skills.Good negotiation skills with the ability to influence others, overcome obstacles, smile, and remain resilient every day.Must be a self-starter, hands-on, "roll up the sleeves" executive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities.Ability to set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data information, and activities.Experience in setting goals, creating, and implementing actions, and evaluating the process and results.Must know basic accounting, database management, spreadsheets and proficient in Microsoft programs.Management & Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence.Assertiveness to make decisions.
