Tasks:Assist all department Team Leads in evaluating manufacturing capabilities and developing corrective action for problems relating to production and quality of materialsRecommend revision of methods of operation, alterations in equipment layout and other changes considerations to facilitate production processes or improve standardsProvide support to the Maintenance Department in trouble-shooting, problem solving, fabrication, assembly, and repair of new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for industrial equipment and machinery such as; power equipment, servo systems, robots, robot controllers, programmable controllers, machine tools and other systems, for integration into the manufacturing processResponsible for designing and trouble-shooting of tooling and fixturesPerform other reasonably similar duties and responsibilities as may be required in the performance of the position and as assigned by the Value Stream ManagerDevelop capital projects in accordance with GKN guidelines from idea to full implementation including but not limited to; gathering quotes, tracking timelines, develop and follow budgeted spending, coordination with cross-functional team and ensuring each project is safely executed and sustainedEvaluate current processes and develop techniques for improving the safety of our workforce, productivityefficiency of our resources and quality of our finished goodsRegular and predictable attendanceAbility and willingness to cover off-shift for occasional vacation coveragePerforms other related duties as assigned Requirements· Engineering or Technical Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four year college or university· Three to five years related experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience· Automation experience desirable · Welding experience desirable· CNC experience desirable· Metallurgical experience desirable· Knowledge and experience with LEAN Enterprise required· Ability to interpret business plans and meetings to generate specific actions for Maintenance Techs· Ability to work in a Lean Manufacturing environment· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations is required· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is required· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, co-workers, shop personnel, clients, customers, and general public is required· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions is required· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables is also required
