Senior Electrical Engineer - Hardware Development Team6mth initial contract w potential extensions or conversionHybrid - Westborough, MA (could consider remote, but would need to travel to office at least once a month)**2 opportunities**Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who is knowledgeable in several electrical engineering disciplines, including electrical design, engineering documentation, SLDschematic creation, component and device selection, and performing Engineering Verification Testing in the lab.Primary ResponsibilitiesSustaining Engineering activities as needed to support legacy products installed in the field. Troubleshoot, identify root cause, provide options to resolve.Design, document, and verify circuits for energy storage systems and subsystemsDevelop test specifications for design verificationProvide content for end-user documentationParticipate in design reviews and technical discussionsKey Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesFamiliarity with power supplies and communication circuitsExperience specifying and selecting components such as relays, circuit breakers, fuses, power supplies, UPS units, cables, and connectorsFamiliarity with AC voltage theory - single phase, three phase, and transformersExperience with DC components and circuits is desirableProficient in reading electrical drawings and circuit schematicsProficient in creating system level wiring diagrams and other one-line diagramsCable assembly specification and designExperience with battery and power equipment is preferredEvaluation and qualification of 3rd party equipmentCapable of performing short-circuit analysis and overcurrent protection coordination studiesKnowledge of ETAP modeling software highly desirablePLC design experience is highly desirableCommunications experience involving network switches and protocolsstandards such as CAN, TCP, RS-485, and ModBusEducation and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required8+ years direct involvement in analog, power and digital circuit designSystems Integration andor Systems Engineering experience is preferred
