Title: Image Quality EngineerLocation: Redmond, WADuration: 12 months In this role, you will work with a team of scientists & engineers, using internally developed simulation tools to predict system level performance of novel products and prototypes. Analysis of the simulation results will be used to directly improve productprototype performance.Job ResponsibilitiesUse simulation tools to model end-to-end performance of display systemsReport analysis of these simulations to establish specifications for these display systems and ensure a successful productCollaborate with the larger research team to explore concepts and drive system performance to create compelling experiencesTop 3 must-have HARD skills: camera - image pipeline designdisplay - image pipeline designtone mapping and gamut mappinggeneral background image signal processing or digital signal processingexperience with optical or distortion correction, color imageryGood to have skills: NOT someone who can tune the image pipeline, but DESIGNUnderstand what they are doing and why they are doing itMore than just tuning but Theory and DepthSeeing projects through end to endSystems level engineeringMinimum QualificationsKnowledge of several of the following:µLED, OLED, LCD, LCOS, DMD, etc based displays, display metrologycalibration,image signal processing, camera ISP, display pipeline architecture, digital filters, colorimetry, color space conversions, imaging waveguides, image quality metrics, human perception.Experience with image algorithmISP development, convolutions, Fourier transformsDeep experience in MATLABBS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Computer Science, Color Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent workeducation experience.Preferred QualificationsMS in the field of Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related degree, PhD preferred5+ years of experience in research or advanced displaycamera development
