Our client specializes in custom-built machinery and is seeking talented engineers to contribute to their world-class projects in a dynamic and supportive environment.About the Role:We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to join our client's team in South Bend. This role offers the chance to design, integrate, and maintain advanced control systems for custom-built friction welding machines. As an Automation Engineer, you will work on exciting projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and traveling to support installations and customer needs. Applicants must be U.S. citizens for security clearance purposes.Key Responsibilities:Design, code, test, and debug system software for friction welding machines.Collaborate with engineering teams to develop advanced control terpret customer specifications to develop technical documentation and schematics.Create electrical wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and HMI programs.Provide on-site and remote support for machine optimization and troubleshooting.Lead initiatives to enhance control system standards and validation methods.Travel domestically and internationally (20-30%) to support projects and customers.Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of experience in control systems engineering, preferably with special-purpose machinery.Strong understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical design.Proficiency in PLC programming (Ladder Logic, STSCL) and software tools such as Simotion Scout and TIA Portal.Experience with Siemens systems is essential.Ability to read and create technical documents and detailed schematics.Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain security clearance.Preferred Skills:Experience with PLCMotion Control Programming platforms like TIA Portal.HMI design expertise using platforms such as WinCC and FactoryTalk View Studio.Familiarity with S7-GRAPHSequential Function Chart programming.Electrical schematic and panel design experience using ePLAN.What's on Offer:Competitive salary up to $200,000, depending on prehensive benefits package, including private medical insurance, company pension, and paid time off.Opportunities for professional growth and technical development.Travel opportunities and the chance to work on international projects.How to Apply:If you're a driven and innovative Automation Engineer with Siemens experience looking to take your career to the next level, we'd love to hear from you!
