Company Description:Luke's Lobster is a renowned seafood brand and a leading national restaurant group with 25+ locations, with both fast-casual and full-service lobster roll restaurants. We also operate our our own seafood processing facility in Saco, Maine, ensuring our 'Shacks' provide our guests the highest quality, best tasting seafood. We are seeking to grow our Finance team and add a Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).Role Description:Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the VP FP&A will partner with the executive leadership team in driving company growth and operational performance and will partner with the Financial Controller (who is responsible for accountingaudit). The VP FP&A will have oversight and leadership for financial planning & analysis, capital structure strategy and execution, treasury & risk management, tax, but also be completely fluent in all the accounting aspects of the organization. It is vital that the VP FP&A be collaborative in tracking financial reporting metrics, analytics and strategies, and partnering with the Operations Teams who are ultimately the internal clients of our Finance team. Please describe an example illustrating your workstyle would be a good fit.Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end financial planning, budgeting, and strategic financial modelingDirect the annual budgeting process across all business units, including improving existing budget templates, driving collaborative key assumptions, and conducting variance analysisDirectly responsible for the maintenance and development of financial models to (a) evaluate new shack opening opportunities, (b) new product line scenarios, and (c) private equity investor quality long-term projectionsEstablish a rolling forecast process with monthlyquarterly comparisons to actual performance updates to provide real-time visibility to leadership and operatorsPartner with department heads to translate business strategies into detailed financial plans, including resource allocation and ROI analysisSet routine meetings with business leaders to hold them accountable to budgets and financial goalsSet up a process for business leader to report out on their KPIs and metrics to measure progress against strategic initiatives and company objectivesManage financial reporting and presenting to the Executive Leadership team and Board members on a monthly callWork with Accounting to generate monthly financial packages that include P&L analysis, balance sheet reviews, cash flow projections, and operational metricsIdeate, create and develop new ad hoc analysis that will take deeper dives into key areas of the business, such as Average check vs Guest count trends, SKU and Customer Margin analysis, COGS and Food Waste, Revenue Share of 3rd party delivery, corporate travel spending, etc.Work with CFO on preparation of quarterly board materials, including quarterly financials, variance analysis, forecast updates, and strategic recommendationsWork with CFO on boardinvestorownership data requestsWork with CFO to oversee financial risk management and compliance protocolsCollaborate with CFO and Accounting team to ensure accurate financial controls and compliance with regulatory requirements, banking covenants, and insurance programsMonitor and analyze Seafood Company's working capital metrics (AR days outstanding, Inventory turns) and suggesting improvements to optimize cash managementDevelop and maintain financial policies and procedures to mitigate risks while supporting business growthLead stress testing and sensitivity analyses to evaluate potential risks and their financial impactDrive operational improvements through financial analysis and cost managementIdentify and quantify efficiency opportunities across the organization through detailed cost analysis and benchmarkingLead cross-functional process improvement initiatives to optimize resource allocation and reduce operational costsWork with MarketingOperationsSales to develop pricing strategies and profitability analyses to maximize margins across products and servicesBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive adoption of cost management initiatives and track performanceAdditional Context about the Role:This VP FP&A role would be new for the Company as the work was previously handled by the CFO, but as the business grows, the CFO needs support. The Company already has an Accounting team that handles the operational day to day work and the audit.
