This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering and is based in New Prague, MN.Job Outcomes You Must Get:Provide support for continuation engineering issues.Coordinate communication between R&D and other cross-functional teams.Develop automated test stations.Determine change impact on mechanicalelectromechanical design and document rationales.Participate in hardware deliverables of development projects.Maintain bill of materials using product lifecycle management process.Generate solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organizational objectives.Prepare documentation in accordance with relevant internal procedures and design control.Collaborate with peers to manage the development of appropriate testing to verify product meets internal and external customer requirements. Interact with suppliers, participate in DFM and DFMA processes to access component and assembly tegrate electronic components with mechanical designs, including design for EMC.Participate in FMEAs and follow up on generated recommendations.Write engineering reports and create presentations as required to document and communicate results.Job Outcomes Requirements:Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus two years relevant experience.Experience in the medical device industry preferred.Exposure to IEC 60601-1, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR part 820.Knowledge of electromechanical systems.Clinical knowledge for uses of product.Understanding of design verification and validation.Experience with vacuum system.Knowledge and experience with 3D CAD software (proficiency in Solidworks required)Support designs of electromechanical medical devices and subsystemsAbility to implement design changes based on internal and external customer feedback.Familiarity with manufacturing methods: Manufacturing work instructions, manufacturing testing, injection molding, machining, etc.Knowledge of analytical software such as Ansys, CE-Tol, Minitab, MathCad, MATLAB, Simulink, LabView.Wide application of drafting practices, GD&T, 1D tolerance analysis and 3D analysis.Expected to have technical knowledge and has demonstrated application of engineering principles, theories, and concepts in related field of expertise.
