Our client, a top 10 ENR-ranked Civil Engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Resident Engineer for their New York City office. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience in NYC infrastructure construction projects. The selected individuals will join a dynamic group of transportation professionals, playing a key role in the growth and success of the Construction Management and Resident Engineering Inspection team throughout the New York Metro Area.Key Responsibilities:Supervise all activities of the project and ensure full compliance to project plans and specifications.Manage a staff of construction inspectors, office engineers and administrative staff.Manage the scope, budget, quality, safety, and schedule of work.Maintain custody of all construction related permits, plans, approvals, drawings, etc., related to the project.Recognize, minimize, or eliminate jobsite and public hazards, through required planning, inspection, verification, and corrective action process.Monitor the conditions at the site for conformance with the Contractor's Site Safety Plan, Agency policies, permits, and all applicable regulations and documentation that pertain to construction safety.Review project submittals including quality, security, and safety plans, work plans, and schedules; Validate and monitor Contractor's invoices for payment in accordance with progress of the work.Your Skills and Qualifications:Expertise and experience in effectively resolving issues related to standard engineering and construction practices.Strong technical abilities, project coordination skills, and excellent written and verbal communication, along with effective negotiation -depth knowledge of construction processes, project management scheduling and estimating, as well as federal and state regulations and industry safety standards.Additional certifications, such as OSHA 30, CCM, ENV-SP, PMP, etc., are highly preferred.Proficiency in using office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.Experience with local NYC agencies such as NYCDDC, NYCDEP, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, Port Authority of NY&NJ, and MTA is preferred.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited college.Valid NYS Professional Engineering License (ASCE Grade V) or ability to obtain ASAP.Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction inspection or management of infrastructure construction projects.
