Job Summary The Director of Engineering will be a key member of the Baton Rouge ManagementOperations team and a technical lead for the Company, reporting directly to the General Manager. The group operates under a flat structure, and the successful candidate will have regular visibility and direct access to various leadership. We are looking for someone that has experience and ability to perform the duties of the Director of Engineering. Duties & Responsibilities Design, develop, and evaluate projects to reduce energy costs and improve efficiency during construction, remodeling, or operational phases.Develop capital expenditure plans for client's LSU FacilityDevelop Authorizations of Expenditure for both internal and external purposes.Managessupports development of SOWs, budgets, design, bid, construction, and related functions.Coordinates and reviews work plan with LSU on State funded utility projects.SupportAdminister future growth projects. Review and administer Key Performance Indicators for plant operations.Present Key Performance Indicators to Client's management and the customer.Manage a database of collected data and analyze impacts on performance and energy consumption.Prepare Monthly reports for both internal and external use.Develop an understanding of the facility's operating systems and be able to provide guidance to the operations team related to their functionality.Manage the administration of utility systems records, including utility maps, utility consumption and operation records, gas system records and reporting. Perform Title V Air Permit reporting.Provide engineering support to the operations team. Help the operations team trouble shoot the various adverse system conditions and perform root cause analyses. Provide engineering design support for projects at Client's Louisiana facilities and participate in associated meetings.Work with the operations team on the optimization of the existing systemProvide technical guidance for ordering necessary equipmentmaterials, prepare instructions for facility personnel to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications and the replacement of equipment.Manage small capital projects at Client's Baton Rouge (& NOLA) facility. Provide operators with technical training about the facility and work with them to increase their technical knowledge on facilities operation. Review and provide input to the operations budget. Review all new technologies. Professional Experience & Knowledge:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in mechanical or electrical engineering, construction management, construction technology or a related field. • 5+ years of experience, including 2 years of project management, administrative, andor supervisor responsibility Knowledge or familiarity with Louisiana State University is preferred Professional Engineering license is considered an assetA preferred candidate would have some Utility or District Energy experience in at least one of the following areas:steam and hot water boilers, chiller systemsheating, cooling and combined heat and power distribution system design, construction, inspection, analysis, and regulatory and safety compliance;storm and emergency response planning and implementation;utility system performance and reliability; andsustainable energy policy, regulations, markets, and technology
