David Mason + Associates is an Engineering Consulting Firm head quartered in St. Louis Missouri. Our Power & Utilities team brings power and gas to communities. We work with utilities and partners to design the energy grid that serves our Nation. Our Electrical Engineering design team supports electric and natural gas transmission and distribution in all of our markets.Our ideal candidate has 3+ years in hands-on experience with engineering & design of high-voltage, utility-scale substations. Previous experience working for and partnering with utility companies such as Ameren MO, Ameren IL, ComEd, or First Energy is required. Proof of FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) license is required, PE (Professional Engineer) License is preferred. Our Power + Utilities team mostly offices out of Chicago; however, DMA is open to hiring the right individual with the required skills at our HQ in St. Louis, Missouri. Why work at David Mason + Associates?Every-other Friday OFFHybrid schedule & flexibility70% employer paid Health benefits401(k) OptionPaid Parental Leave"Family-first" company cultureMinority-Owned Business EnterpriseProfessional Development AssistancePlus, more!!Essential DutiesProvide Substation design documents including general arrangements, cross sections, and details, as well as Bills of Materials.Prepares and oversees production of construction drawing packages for substations that include Physical documents, specifications, design calculations, and technical reports as needed.Prepares engineer's opinion of probable construction cost.Responsible for project schedules and time completion of projects.Delegates and oversees project design tasks to Technicians, Designers and Staff Engineers.Works closely and coordinates project clarifications, conflicts, and changes with multi-disciplined design teams, owners, and contractors in the field during construction.May perform site investigations and inspections in the field during and post construction.Assists in preparation of proposals for engineering services.Assists in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets and billing and assists with AR.Mentors and assists with training Technicians, Designers and Staff Engineers.Participates in business development activities as needed.Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, monitoring project budgets and schedules, and being responsible for overseeing the technical work of one or more team members.Estimates materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.Monitors project progress and ensures design specificationssafety standards are met.May signseal drawings or other required documentation based on division and firm policies.Follow and abide by the DMA employee and safety pletes other duties as assigned.Education & Experience An Industry relevant Bachelors' Degree or equivalent education from a four-year college or university is preferred.Minimum 3+years' experience in design, management, or construction of electrical engineering projects.Must have working knowledge of utility, transmission and power distribution applications and theory.Have a solid grasp of design modifications for schematic, wiring and interconnect diagrams.
