Energy Contracts & Economic AnalystLocation: Jackson, MI, 49201 (Hybrid - M, T, Th in office & W, F remote)Contract Duration: Until 02062026 (with high possibility of extension)Overview:We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Energy Contracts & Economic Analyst to support our clean energy initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing and analyzing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), conducting economic modeling, and supporting competitive solicitations for clean energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in economic modeling, energy capacity markets, and clean energy technologies.Key Responsibilities:Support Clean Energy Initiatives: Assist in issuing competitive solicitations (RFPs) for clean energy technologies.Economic Analysis & Modeling: Conduct Excel-based financial modeling to evaluate RFP bids and determine optimal strategies for energy procurement.Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Management: Oversee and manage 100+ PPAs with third-party energy suppliers, ensuring compliance and optimal pricing structures.Forecasting & Decision Support: Perform economic forecasting and support strategic decision-making for customer-centric energy solutions.Contract Negotiation & Renegotiation: Identify opportunities for renegotiation or new bilateral agreements to maximize value and align with the company's clean energy plan.Data Visualization & Reporting: Develop PowerPoint presentations and visual reports to communicate economic analysis findings to stakeholders.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Interconnection Team and other internal departments to ensure seamless project execution.Required Qualifications:2-4 years of experience in economic modeling, energy capacity markets, or clean energy technologies.Strong proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling and data analysis.Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, or a related field.Understanding of solar energy, clean technologies, and energy market operations.Experience working with PPAs and energy procurement agreements is preferred.Strong communication and presentation skills with experience in PowerPoint.Preferred Skills:Knowledge of renewable energy policy and regulatory frameworks.Experience with RTOISO market structures and energy pricing models.Ability to synthesize complex data and present actionable insights.
