Maintenance Supervisor - Engineer Houston, TXOur client, a biotech company specializing in products for human and animal health, has an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor - Engineer. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the maintenance department to ensure production equipment, machinery, and instrumentation functions reliably and in compliance with employee safety and food safety regulation. You will create work plans and develop teams that will keep production equipment in excellent condition, keep lines running at high efficiency, and maintain proper stock of parts.Responsibilities:Oversee all activities of the maintenance department within a 247 operation.Supervise employees responsible for the maintenance of production equipment and related systems.Implement predictive maintenance strategies using data analytics.Monitor and target improvements based on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment performance, downtime, quality of product, and maintenance costs.Assist with root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, equipment, or work crew.Use data to analyze and resolve equipment failures and reliability problems and recommend proactive solutions to minimize deficiencies.Analyze historical maintenance data, equipment performance metrics, and operational trends to develop and improve preventive maintenance plans.Maintain time and maintenance records.Develop capital justifications for machine tools and production equipment to improve quality, cost, and output.Oversee outside contractors performing installations and projects at the facility.Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlight trends, successes, and areas for improvement.Monitor and enforce safety requirements.Available for emergencies on an "˜On Call' basis.Requirements:Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.Knowledge of automated manufacturing process controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and electronic equipment, NH3 refrigeration, plumbing, boilers, chillers, PLCS's, and industrial electricalmechanical systems.Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processesprocedures and HACCP.Demonstrate knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations including product and associate safety and OSHA standards.Demonstrate experience and training in safety activities such as HAZ-COM, HAZMAT, confined space, and lockouttagout, etc.Knowledge of Process Safety Management, P&IDs and PM's.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, process and procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Excellent technical skills.
