Position SummaryA reputable plaintiff personal injury law firm located in Chicago is seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in personal injury law, with a demonstrated ability to draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, discovery requests, and responses to discovery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career in a fast-paced, client-focused legal environment.Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of duties, including but not limited to:Document Preparation:Draft, revise, and finalize litigation documents such as complaints, motions, interrogatories, and responses to discovery requests File pleadings and other legal documents with applicable courts or through e-filing systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules.Case File Management:Maintain and organize case files, including physical and electronic documentation.Monitor case deadlines and coordinate with attorneys to ensure timely submission of necessary documents.Client Communication:Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and other legal firms.Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring they are informed about case progress.Legal Research and Administrative Support:Conduct basic legal research to assist with case preparation.Assist attorneys with trial preparation, pre-litigation tasks, and correspondence drafting.Discovery Coordination:Collaborate with attorneys to compile, review, and prepare responses to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.QualificationsTo be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working in personal injury law, with knowledge of Illinois state and federal rules of civil procedure Technical Skills: Proficiency with legal document management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
