Job Description(Up to $10K Sign-On & Relocation Available for Select Candidates)We are looking for a Weld Process Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.Your Responsibilities:This position's responsibilities include weld and braze personnel qualification oversight, filler metal inventory and quality management, weld tooling development, non-product routing development, and supervision of Development Lab technicians.We Take Care of Our People:Paid Time Off I 401K with Employer Match and Profit Sharing I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Referral Program I Competitive Pay I Recognition I Employee Stock Purchase Plan I Inclusive & Supportive CultureYour Challenge:Evaluate top problematic weld joints at EMD and resolve issues through design, manufacturing, and implementation of improved weld fixturestooling, and create mockups for training and prove-outs of weld operatorsTrack weld related NCRs and work directly with welder and Weld Lab Technicians to understand the problem and what can be done prevent recurrence.Understand and work with Manufacturing Engineers to improve manufacturing steps before, during, and after welding operations to mitigate processing issues that negatively affect weldingCreate drawings for procedural qualification, personnel qualifications, and mockupsSupport both procedural and personnel qualifications for welding and brazing: Work with Weld and Materials Engineers to procure material, create work instructions, and follow execution and inspection of the qualification samples.Lead development, manufacturing, and implementation of support tooling for weld and brazing operations for existing products and new product developmentSupervise and prioritize assignments for AWSE Development Lab technician staffManage Cheswick site filler metal inventory with respect to production needs and quality requirements, with assistance from Weld and Materials engineersWork with laboratory equipment vendors to generate proposals for new capital asset equipment, as necessaryProvide material and time estimates for customer scopes of work in support of proposalsDemonstrate fundamental project planning skills and understanding of cost and schedule implicationsPerform work in accordance with departmental procedures and instructions, CW policies, and safety, environmental, and security rules and guidelinesWhat you Bring: Bachelor's degree in Technical Engineering Specialty such as Mechanical, Materials, or Weld Engineering.
