Apex Systems is currently hiring for an Electrical Construction Inspector primarily focused in Transmission Line and Substation ProjectsFor immediate consdieration, email your resume to with the subject line "Electrical Inspector - Transmission Line and SubstationPosition: Electrical Inspector, Transmission Line and SubstationLocation: Norfolk, NE, Travel is requiredPay: Negotiable based on experiencePreferred Background: Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade background with an emphasis on Power Transmission, Generation, and Substation systems.Job Description: Act as the Owner's representative to oversee third-party transmission and substation construction, including permitting, right-of-way clearing, foundation work, structure erection, conductor stringing, communications fiber optics, substation facility construction, safety, SCADA and instrumentation, electrical startup, and commissioning. This position is responsible for overseeing electrical work and startup to ensure compliance with engineering plans, project specifications, quality control, scheduling, and safety goals.Job Responsibilities:Manage the electrical scope, including schedules and engineering interface.Collaborate with resources and sub-suppliers across various disciplines to determine project priorities, schedules, and work plans to meet milestones.Report daily, weekly, and monthly on progress, quality control, and safety.Record, name, and upload electrical installation QC photographs.Facilitate processes for requests for information and design change notifications.Ensure projects are implemented efficiently, effectively, and safely in accordance with department procedures, local regulations, contracts, and policies.Verify constructability, advise on resource allocations, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed.Walk down systems, develop, and manage punch-lists.Review project completion packages for completeness and accuracy to terface with the project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties.Oversee field commissioning activities.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Required Skillsets:Knowledge of electrical construction means and methods, including NEC, NERC, FERC, and NFPA standards.Ability to review drawings and conduct field electrical quality control inspections.Strong organizational and progress reporting skills.Proficiency in computer skills, including Outlook, PDF editing, Word, Excel, document control systems, and PowerPoint.Effective communication with third parties and suppliers.Understanding of scheduling and planning.EEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
