Off the back of a licensing agreement with the US Military + the pivot toward production of their second patented product, we are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to oversee manufacturing.This role offers the unique opportunity to drive operational excellence, shape the company's operational standards, and lead key initiatives in a high-impact, fast-paced environment.The RoleAs the Health & Safety Officer, you will work closely with the COO and the leadership team to develop and implement safety initiatives, support the build-out of new labs, and the installationcommissioning of equipment purchases.Responsibilities:Lead the Safety Department and support all program activitiesReview existing policies and procedures for compliance with industry standardsbest practices including shipping protocolsCreate and enforce safety policies and preventative measures for all lab areas both externally (vendors) and internallyOversee proper handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous wasteSupport the build-out of new labs and upgrading current lab infostructuresPerform regular safety and 5S audits of lab areas and officeWhat You Need:Technical and practical proficiency of EHS issues across research and development, manufacturing, construction and field operationsExperience growing an EHS organization in a related field (battery technology, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing)Experience leading design reviews on technical deliverablesWhat We'd Like to See:Experience in both startups and an affinity for improving processesExperience with battery-related safety procedures is a plus (Lithium)design experience, specifically for safe lab infrastructureExperience handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous wasteHourly Rate: $80-$110hr.Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)If you are interested, please get in touch with Will at free to share this incredible opportunity with your network of friends and contacts who may be interested in shaping the future of the energy industry.At Harmonic, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
