Lead Developer, #859 Clearance: U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be must be able to obtain a public trust clearance. Dev Technology Group is looking for a Lead Developer to support both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and new development efforts for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will have relevant development language and development leadership experience, strong collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex work activities in a deadline-driven environment. What You'll Be Doing: The Lead Developer shall have the overall responsibility of overseeing the delivery of application code and ensuring that the code developed complies with business requirements, federal Enterprise Architecture standards, security controls, and clean code standards and strategy. The Lead Developer will also serve as a mentor to the junior and senior developers and assist in removing blockers and resolving issues with application code. Required Education, Experience, and Skills: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR No Bachelor's Degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Agile development experience Excellent active listening skills Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials Ability to mentor and lead more junior developers Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: In software development languages and frameworks (such as, but not limited to, MuleSoft, Java, Angular, microservices). With portable environment creation or containerization technologies, such as Docker, Apache Mesos, or Vagrant Designing and developing solutions with Java Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) in an Agile Software Development environment. Designing and developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with Representation State Transfer (REST), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON). With JBoss Developer (RHCJD) or Oracle Certified Professional, Java Enterprise Edition (EE). With Oracle Database 12c (or greater). Implementing the MVC Development Methodology (Model/View/Controller). Proven success as a technical team leader. Working closely with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and help translate these into technical requirements for the development team. Planning and documenting technical specifications for features or system design. Designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business processes and application requirements. Directing the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications. Writing testable, scalable, and efficient code and leading code reviews. Mentoring junior team members and ensuring they adhere to determining software quality standards.
