We are seeking a Senior Electromechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. This on-site position will be responsible for working with our engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to take ownership of the electrical aspects of our novel liquid desiccant air conditioning products and support our controls development and implementation. We are looking for purpose-driven team members who enjoy problem solving, teamwork, and personal growth in a high-performance, driven culture to join our venture-backed company.About the Senior Engineer position:We seek an innovative electromechanical engineer to take a significant role in designing and engineering our third-generation liquid desiccant air conditioner. The successful candidate will "get in at the ground floor" of our newly launched and funded business to design and launch into the market industry-changing commercial HVAC products. They must be comfortable taking ownership of all high voltage and low voltage systems of our product; overcoming design challenges under deadlines; get hands dirty with testing and troubleshooting; collaborating across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Support teams; and working both independently and as managed locally and remotely. We offer a competitive salary and benefits plus a notable equity package.Primary Responsibilities:Selecting electrical hardware for new projectsEvaluating changes to electrical hardware for costSupporting end of linefactory floor issues and troubleshootingDeveloping, managing, and maintaining all electrical schematics, panel drawings, and work instructionsSupport in-field troubleshooting of controlselectrical issuesManage a project across multiple stakeholders to meet required deadlinesLead design reviews internally and externally with suppliersManage suppliers to design, quote, build, and evaluate partsAdditional Responsibilities:Develop software tools (i.e. Ignition) to support production & factory testingConfigure product electrical & controls configuration (e.g. drawings, configs, code) at time of productionSupport PLC control code developmentSet up and maintenance of manufacturing equipmentSupporting remote management system development and implementationRequired Qualifications:BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or directly adjacent field of study>5 years work experience in electro-mechanical engineering or control systemsStrong analytic and troubleshooting skillsExcellent attention to detailExpert knowledge of high voltage (120V - 600V) power electronics and devices including ECM motors, VFDs, and associated componentsExpert knowledge of low voltage digital and analog electronics including analog sensors, programmable logic controllers, stepper motorsDemonstrated history of working independently, demonstrating ownership of projects, and attention to detail checking controlling quality and accuracy of their workExperience developing and maintaining electrical schematics in a low-volume, high-mix configurable Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree, preferably with focus on power electronics, analog electronics, or controlsStrong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC)Licensed electricianWorking understanding of refrigeration systems, MODBUS communication, and BACNETExperience selecting and integrating components common to HVAC including fans, pumps, compressors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)Ability to travel to research and development headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA up to four weeks per yearMojave Energy Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
