In this role, you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of custom machinery projects, while ensuring alignment with production goals, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.Responsibilities:Lead and manage the engineering team, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.Assign and prioritize tasks, projects, and resources for efficient project execution.Oversee the design and development of new products and systems, ensuring they meet client specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements.Manage multiple engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet cost, quality, and delivery targets; actively participate in engineering work, and provide technical support, knowledge, mentorship, and guidance at the floor level.Develop project timelines, track milestones, and communicate progress to senior management.Establish and maintain customer relationshipsexpectations through communication of site equipment capabilitiesperformance and execution of the new product introductions (NPI) process.Monitor and control departmental budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.Improve equipment uptime and minimize production downtime through preventative maintenance strategies.Identify opportunities for reducing waste, optimizing material usage, and lowering operational costs.Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications, project reports, and compliance certifications.Stay up to date with technological advancements, manufacturing trends, and regulatory requirements to integrate innovative solutions into the engineering process.Required Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, BSME or BSEE preferred.5+ years of management experience with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers or technical staff, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of engineering principles, including mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering.Proficiency in CAD software, manufacturing systems, and automation tools.Experience in the design of industrial equipment such as conveyors, packaging equipment, or food processing machinery.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from initiation to completion.Strong organizational skills and the ability to create timelines, manage budgets, and allocate resources.Experience with automation controls using PLC's, HMI's, Servos, VFD's as well as pneumatics.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Experience with design, fabrication, and troubleshooting of high-speed machinery.Ability to inspire a team to meet objectives, deadlines, and performance targetsStrong conflict resolution and decision-making skills.Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with other departments.Bonus SkillsExperience:Industrial Food Processing Automation experience, dairy industry strongly preferred.Knowledge of sanitary design principles as well as common standards and codes (IEEE, ANSI, NSF, USDA).Management of third-party resources (technical consultants, contractors, etc.)We are an industry leader in the manufacturing technology sector, committed to the highest standards of quality for customers and employees.
