Join our team and contribute to meaningful, life-changing work.Job Description:The Dearie Law Firm, P.C. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Calendar Clerk to manage and maintain an extensive litigation calendar. This role will be responsible for reviewing legal documents, calculating critical deadlines, and ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures. Additionally, responsible for occasionally assisting with case filings and court-related services as needed. This position requires strong multitasking skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Must be able to handle a heavy calendar caseload independently and work under pressure to meet deadlines; efficiently multitask and prioritize work quickly.Must be able to manage a large caseload of over 700 matters preparing responses and records produced by opposing counsel.Must have experience and knowledge with NYSCEF, E-law, Pacer & calendar scheduling software; assist with Court Filing Documents.Streamline multiple methods of communication between Attorneys to oversee the completion of matters.Maintain and update the calendar on a daily basis, enter all dates, deadlines, and tasks from Court Orders; monitor deadlines and due dates.Arrange for daily court appearances by attorneys; schedule depositions and physical examinations, communicate with clients, attorneys, and court.Follow up after court appearances to ensure all deadlines are entered in the calendar; re-schedule appearances and appointments as necessary.Qualifications:2+ years of experience as a law firm calendar clerk or in a similar legal support role.Expertise in New York court systems and proficiency in E-Courts, NYSCEF, E-Law, PACER, and other legal calendaring software is required.Experience with case management software (e.g., Smart Advocate or similar).Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with a high attention to detail.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a team-player attitude.The starting salary this position is $65,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
