POSITION OVERVIEW:The Counter Sales Supervisor position will be overseeing our sales counter operations while providing exceptional customer service and driving sales growth. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge of metal products, strong leadership skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members. The successful candidate will ensure our counter sales team meets or exceeds performance targets and maintains a safe, organized work environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Sales Management:Supervise the daily operations of the sales counter, ensuring optimal customer service and satisfaction.Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and improve performance metrics.Assist customers with inquiries about metal products, pricing, and availability, providing technical support as needed.Coordinate the implementation of all ISO procedures pertaining to your area of responsibility and monitor for compliance. Follow up to make sure the procedures are implemented in a timely manner.Train and develop the employees that you manage. Effectively manage the employee development process through setting expectations, coaching and counseling employees, conducting performance appraisals as needed and documenting performance. Develop individual training plans for employees utilizing company resources and industry related training programs to continually increase knowledge and experience.Create sales contest to stimulate sales, correct dormant or excess inventory situations, and motivate employees.Establish individual sales targets and assist retail sales representatives in meeting these objectives.Customer Service:Greet customers promptly and courteously, identifying their needs and providing recommendations based on product knowledge.Address and resolve customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Foster long-term relationships with customers and promote loyalty through exceptional service.Leadership:Train, mentor, and develop sales staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards.Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team skills.Schedule staff shifts and manage workforce to meet customer demands terface with branch leadership team members to promote best practices and continuous improvement.Collaborate in branch L10.Ensure alternate sales resources that help from time to time and Saturdays are well trained and ventory and Order Management:Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock management to ensure product availability for the sales counter.Collaborate with supply chain and warehouse teams to facilitate timely order fulfillment.Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, customer orders, and inventory usage.Sales Strategy:Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.Implement promotional strategies and product displays to enhance sales performance at the counter.Collaborate with management on pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and product offerings.Collaborate with other counter supervisors on best practices and process improvements.Safety and Compliance:Ensure the sales area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.Train team members on safety protocols and best practices for handling metal supplies.Participate in regular safety meetings and adhere to company policies.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, sales, or a related field is preferred.4+ years of experience in store sales, preferably in the metal supply or related industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of metal products, specifications, and applications.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and team members.Proven leadership abilities and experience in team management.Proficiency in using sales software and inventory management systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.LIFE AT IMSThe Company strongly believes that the more diverse our team, the better our work will be.
