This is the perfect opportunity to build a career at a successful and growing company.About the Role - Assists Shift Supervisor in individual work areas, meeting production requirements based on customer specifications, with important emphasis on safety, quality, cost control, delivery, and employee development. Perform welding and fabrication of materials and perform general equipment maintenance.ResponsibilitiesWelding metals as specified by drawings and work orders.Prepare metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.Train new welders and mentoring team.Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as required.Liaising with the line supervisor, reporting any issues, and making suggestions for improvement.Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment.Ensure Health & Safety is the number one goal by having the ability to work in a constant state of alertness, following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times and ensures safety precautions are observed by all fabrication facility employees.Use judgement in selecting the repair methods, equipment and materials used to accomplish assignments.Ensure safeguards for equipment and PPE while performing welding operations.Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsOperate tools and equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination.AutonomousIndependent "” enjoys working with little direction.Experience with metal.Ability to transport, move, and lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the team and supervisor(s).Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, equipment, hazards, and safety precautions of the welding trade.Knowledge and skill in use of computers and assorted software programs.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Ability to apply basic math principles including fractions and basic geometry.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.Ability to maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.Minimum 5 years welding and fabricating experience required.
