This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the electrical engineering aspects of solar projects, from evaluation through to design and execution.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and review process for solar system layouts, including electrical interconnections, modeling, and performance analysis.Evaluate technical specifications for equipment and contribute to the conceptual and detailed design, including analysis of load flow, voltage drop, arc flash, and integration of protection relays and control systems.Source major electrical components and manage vendor relationships and expectations.Create and review single-line diagrams, electrical block diagrams, power, and instrumentation plans.Address project structural challenges and interconnection considerations.Coordinate engineering-related activities, such as studies and surveys.Review engineering work to ensure alignment with industry standards, codes, safety regulations, technical specifications, and project requirements.Review technical elements of RFPs and contract documents.Serve as the primary liaison between the engineering team and project management, ensuring alignment on project scope, quality, and timelines. Communicate with customers on technical inquiries or concerns.Assist with the preparation of sales proposals, including design inputs, cost estimates, and follow-up on project needs.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required with 1-3 years of experience in the field.Experience in solar energy or construction project management is a plus.Proficient in solar system design tools (Helioscope, AutoCAD, PVsyst).NABCEP Design Specialist Certification is desirable.Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Fire Codes.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.Familiarity with various solar panel and inverter technologies.Experience creating electrical engineering design packages.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
