Claims Specialist

Our team is seeking a Claims Specialist to help manage our P&C claims - primarily worker's compensation and commercial auto. We are looking for someone who is both practical and cost-focused; who knows when to settle and whenhow to push back.This position will report directly to CFO. There will be broad autonomy to operate with increasing authority once trust and competence are established.The Ideal Candidate for This PositionIs a self-starter who likes to solve complex problemsBuilds and maintains relationshipsIs highly organized and detail orientedIs an excellent communicator and a good listenerHas a great attitude and a strong work ethicIs comfortable operating and making decision within their level of authorityWhat You'll Need5+ years of carrier side adjusting experiencePreference given to candidates with experience in the followingCalifornia Work Comp ClaimsCommercial Auto - BI claimsA solid understanding of liability and comparative negligence and be able to identify subrogation opportunitiesAbility to get a California Independent Adjuster's License with 9 months of hireFamiliarity with the claims litigation processExperience with captive insurance programs is a plusWhat You'll DoStay current on the status of our open claimsWork with adjusters to create action plans to move claims towards closureTrack and manage claim reservesCollaborate with adjusters, defense counsel and other stakeholders to keep costs low without sacrificing quality outcomesReport new losses to the appropriate carrier(s)Determine which claims need to be escalated internally andor with the carrier(s) and proceed appropriatelyPrepare loss trend analysis and other claim reports as neededSpecial projects as neededOther duties as assignedWhy DIODIO has quickly grown to be a wide-reaching regional carrier for the CANVAZ area.
